Atlas — the AI assistant

How to talk to Atlas, what it can do, and the one rule that explains everything.

Atlas is the household AI, running on the Hermes agent framework. It lives in Discord and behaves differently per channel — you never need to tell it which "mode" to use; it detects the channel automatically.

The one rule that explains everything

Atlas is an orchestrator, not a warehouse. It never keeps important facts "in its head" or in chat history. Every kind of information has exactly one home, and Atlas routes it there:

InformationWhere it lives
Company/client knowledgeThe vault — Companies/<Company>.md
Project/build decisionsThe vault — Projects/<Company>/<Project>.md
Tasks, deadlines, calendar, leadsKairOS
RemindersKairOS task + the reminder bot
Movies, shows, gamesThe vault — Watchlist.md
Things to buyThe vault — Buy_List.md

If you tell Atlas something durable in chat, it writes it to the right file. If you ask about something, it reads from there — so answers stay correct even months later.

How to talk to it

  • In most forum channels Atlas responds to every message (no @mention needed).
  • Ask in plain language. "What do you know about [company]?" · "Remind me to follow up Friday" · "What should we play tonight?"
  • Ask it to do things too: it can manage the Discord server, create files in the vault, schedule tasks, and run scheduled jobs.

Reminders that actually work

Say "remind me to X by Friday" anywhere. Atlas creates a KairOS task with a due date, and a separate reminder bot (running 24/7 in the cloud) nags in ⏰・reminders with Done / Snooze buttons until you finish. Chat promises are never trusted — only tasks count.

Weekly rhythm

Every Monday 08:00 Atlas posts a portfolio brief in 🗂・dossier: each company's stage, open tasks, unanswered questions, and the most important client action of the week.
